From 5-star recruits to breakout stars, Week 2 (Sep. 4-6) in California high school football featured a laundry list of standout performances.

Here's a look at the top individual performances from last week.

Top performances from Week Two of California football

Zion Anderson, Long Beach Poly: In a 28-27 comeback win against Tustin, Anderson totaled three catches for 75 yards and a touchdown, three pass break-ups, and an interception that he returned 60 yards.

Ja'Myron "Tron" Baker, Sierra Canyon: The USC-bound wideout had six catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-0 beatdown of Punahou (HI).

Jayden Coley, Long Beach Poly: Coley helped lead Poly to a 28-27 comeback win over Tustin with five catches for 144 yards and two touchdowns.

Matthew Curry, Newbury Park: Curry had nine receptions for 143 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-35 loss to Pacifica (Oxnard).

King Demethris, Palisades: Demethris was the top receiver in a 59-44 shootout of a win against Palisades, making seven catches for 126 yards and three touchdowns.

Josh Elerts, Acalanes: Elerts ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries in a 42-3 rout of Menlo-Atherton.

Josh Ene, Granite Bay: Ene piled up 215 yards, three rushing touchdowns, a 31-yard pass, and an interception in a 45-7 thrashing of Vista del Lago (Folsom).

Honor Fa'alave-Johnson, Cathedral Catholic: The 5-star two-way standout helped lead the Dons to a 24-23 win against Chandler (AZ) with 140 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries to go with six tackles (one for loss).

Luke Fahey, Mission Viejo: Fahey, an Ohio State commit, dissected Folsom's defense for 5 touchdown passes, 323 passing yards, zero interceptions, and 41 rushing yards.

Xavier Fatu, Pittsburg: Fatu made big plays on both sides of the ball to lift Pittsburg to a 31-23 win against Bishop Manogue (NV). He registered five receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown plus an interception.

Luke Frith, San Juan Hills: Frith had a career night in a 42-21 win against Chino Hills, turning four catches into 185 yards and three touchdowns.

Braelyn Frost, Rocklin: Frost recorded two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, to help Rocklin to a 41-22 victory versus Lincoln (Stockton).

Timmy Herr, San Juan Hills: Herr completed 12 of 15 passes for 304 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions in a 42-21 victory over Chino Hills.

JD Hill, Mission Viejo: Hill continued making a case for himself as California's top defensive lineman to help Mission Viejo throttle Folsom – Northern California's top-ranked team – 53-14. The NAU commit made 13 tackles with a whopping 5.5 sacks, including one that forced a safety, and one forced fumble.

Troy Huhn, Mission Hills: The 4-star Penn State commit completed 17 of 21 passes for 240 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions, and two rushing touchdowns in a 42-6 rout of Oceanside.

Anthony Jacobs Jr., Pacifica (Oxnard): One of a few Tritons to go off in a 56-35 win over Newbury Park, Jacobs had five catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Joshua Kerst, San Clemente: Kerst racked up 3.5 sacks (4.5 TFLs total) and forced two fumbles in a 35-34 victory over Chaparral.

Eiler King, San Clemente: King led San Clemente to a 35-34 win against Chaparral with three touchdowns and 285 yards on 23-29 completion.

Taylor Lee, Pacifica (Oxnard): Lee had one of the more dominant passing performances you'll see in a 56-35 win over Newbury Park. He completed 29 of 33 (87.9%) of passes for seven touchdowns, 484 yards, and zero interceptions, and he ran for 38 yards too.

Jhadis Luckey, California (San Ramon): In a 35-16 win against Foothill (Pleasanton), Luckey ran for 301 yards and five touchdowns and also had a sack and a team-high eight tackles.

Malachi McFarland, Damien: McFarland continued his breakout campaign in a 38-28 win against St. Paul with 168 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries.

Courtney Miller-Thompson, Lincoln (San Diego): Miller-Thompson made nine catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns to help Lincoln to a 50-31 win against Arbor View (NV).

Ka'vaughn Emoni Penney, Cardinal Newman: Penney grabbed three of the Cardinals' five interceptions in a 15-7 upset win over Grant Union.

Damani Porras, Downey (Downey): Porras had nine catches for 201 yards and two touchdowns plus a 55-yard kick return as Downey blew out Millikan 55-7.

Deshonne Redeaux, Oaks Christian: The 4-star USC commit went ballistic to carry Oaks Christian to a 35-28 victory against Liberty (Bakersfield). Redeaux turned only 13 carries into 276 yards and four touchdowns.

Ceasar Reyes, Garfield: Reyes compiled a stat line you don't see everyday in a 42-38 win against Kennedy (La Palma). He had team-highs of 172 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns, three catches, 43 receiving yards, 13 tackles (12 solo), one interception, and one forced fumble.

Oscar Rios, Downey (Downey): A 4-star Arizona commit, Rios completed 14 of 16 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 74 yards, another touchdown, and a two-point conversion in a 55-7 blowout of Millikan.

Rashad Robinson, Lincoln (San Diego): Robinson dominated in a 50-31 victory over Arbor View (NV), racking up 224 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries.

Dean Rosales, Granada Hills Charter: Rosales did what he could in a 59-44 loss to Palisades, rushing for 254 yards, four touchdowns, and two conversions.

Alijah Royster, Pacifica (Oxnard): Royster helped Pacifica defeat Newbury Park 56-35 with a remarkable stat line. He grabbed 13 receptions for 179 yards and four touchdowns and ran five times for 46 yards and another TD.

Ryan Salcedo, Bishop Amat: Salcedo ran wild in a 42-38 win over Valencia (Valencia), turning 16 carries into 222 yards and five touchdowns.

Tyree Sams, Clovis North: Sams got it done on both ends in a 38-33 win against Redwood (Visalia), making four catches for 87 yards and a touchdown and snagging an interception as well.

Brady Smigiel, Newbury Park: Despite losing 56-35, the 4-star Michigan commit completed 26 of 34 passes for 321 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions against Pacifica (Oxnard).

Brandon Smith, Central East: The Arizona commit showed why he's considered arguably the top two-way player in California in a 44-20 win over Turlock. Smith ran for 170 yards and two touchdowns, had a 17-yard touchdown catch, and recorded six tackles, a tackle for loss, and a pass break-up.

Jack Thomas, Palisades: Thomas piled up the numbers in a 59-44 victory over Granada Hills Charter with 387 passing yards, six touchdowns, zero interceptions, and a rushing touchdown.

Dane Weber, Chaparral: Weber balled out despite losing 35-34 to San Clemente, completing 21 of 29 passes for 332 yards, five touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

Blake Wong, Norco: Wong made eight catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns to lift Norco past Orange Vista 28-24.

Eli Woodard, Chaparral: Woodard had seven receptions for 141 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-34 loss at the hands of San Clemente.
