The 22 teams in the Texas top 25 high school football rankings that were in action last week went a combined 21-1. The only loss was in a game featuring two ranked teams, as Lake Travis held off Dripping Springs, 14-7.
As a result, the Cavaliers and Tigers swapped places in this week’s rankings. Lake Travis moved up to No. 19, while Dripping Springs dropped to No. 20. The Cavaliers play at No. 12 Austin Westlake in one of two top 25 battles on this week’s docket.
The other one is a biggie. No. 2 Allen travels to No. 7 Prosper in a battle of Eagles that should decide which team will be the District 6-6A champion and likely finishes 10-0.
The playoffs are on the horizon as the regular season comes into the home stretch. As always, things should get more and more interesting as the weather finally starts to turn cool and November approaches.
