While there was no change at the top of The Sporting News Midwest high school football Top 25, we did see a newcomer enter the poll with a massive jump.

Waukee Northwest, one of the top teams in Iowa high school football, is the lone unbeaten Class 5A left in the state. The Wolves are now ranked 16th after blasting Des Moines East, 63-6.

Millard South, led by Alabama commit Jett Thomalla, remained in the No. 1 position after handling business with a 77-0 victory over Lincoln Southeast. Up next will be Papillion-La Vista for Thomalla and the top Nebraska team.

Coming in at No. 2 is Mt. Carmel out of Illinois with Lincoln-Way East right behind at three. East St. Louis of Illinois replaced Omaha Westside at No. 4 after Omaha Westside suffered a loss to Omaha Central, 31-28.

Minnetonka of Minnesota cracked the Top 10 following a 21-14 win over Eden Prairie in a matchup of ranked teams, as they are now 5-0 heading into a date with Wayzata.
