Playoff races and district chases are starting to crystallize as we get closer to the end of the season.
With three weeks to go in the season, some teams continue to stand out above the rest.
Parkway, which is 7-0 and looking to challenge Evangel for the District 1-5A title, makes its debut on the list. However, another 7-0 team is Edna Karr and it continues to cast its shadow amongst the rest of the state as the clear No. 1 team in Louisiana.
What does the rest of the list look like?
Here is the Week 8 version of AllSportsPeople’ Louisiana football Top 25.

Union Parish was no match for the Cavaliers, as their shutout victory all but assures them the District 1-2A title. Calvary forced seven Farmer turnovers and scored two defensive touchdowns, as its offense did the rest with 298 yards on just 25 plays. The Cavs step out of district and up in class this week in a West Shreveport showdown against Huntington.
16. Evangel

A lot can be said about the Eagles’ offense and Peyton “Pop” Houston turning in another solid performance, but their defense earned a shutout for the first time in two seasons. During the Tigers’ four-game winning streak, top 2027 quarterback prospect Elijah Haven has thrown for more touchdowns (22) than incompletions (16). Haven’s gaudy numbers have contributed to an average margin of victory of 47.3 as Dunham is rolling in the hopes of climbing up the Division III select power rankings. Dunham’s next home game against East Feliciana will determine the sole leader of District 8-2A.
22. University Lab
- 2025 Record: 6-1 (3-0 District 6-3A)
