Week 5 produced some memorable performances across Idaho high school football, headlined by Rocky Mountain's explosive 55-49 victory over Capital in Meridian.

The Grizzlies got a monster game from Rasean Jones, who tallied 347 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns in the wild homecoming thriller. Elsewhere, defending state champions survived close calls, several undefeated teams stayed perfect, and a few programs reached significant milestones.

Despite the on-field drama, the top of the rankings remained relatively stable. Quality wins and competitive losses against strong opponents kept most teams in similar positions from a week ago.

So here are this week's state rankings:

1. Bishop Kelly (4-0) — The Knights stayed perfect with a dominant 55-27 victory over Nampa at home Friday night, with quarterback Ben Avella throwing for 218 yards and four touchdowns on 20-of-27 passing.

2. Rocky Mountain (4-0) — The Grizzlies delivered the performance of the week in their wild 55-49 homecoming victory over Capital, powered by Rasean Jones' explosive 347 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns. The spectacular showing in a game with 1,084 combined yards proved they can win shootouts against quality opponents.

3. Rigby (3-1) — The defending state champions had a well-timed bye week to regroup after their early-season loss to Bishop Kelly. With four of the last six state titles, the Trojans remain dangerous and will look to bounce back when they return to action.

4. Eagle (4-0) — The Mustangs stayed undefeated with a convincing 49-17 road victory over Boise, getting 265 passing yards and five touchdowns from quarterback Austin Ramsey.

5. Hillcrest (4-0) — The defending 5A state champions survived one of the wildest finishes of the season, holding off a furious Skyline comeback to escape with a 25-19 victory at home. After leading 25-0 with two minutes left, they watched Skyline score twice and recover two onside kicks before finally securing the win.

6. Skyline (3-1) — The Grizzlies nearly pulled off the comeback of the year against Hillcrest, scoring twice in the final two minutes and recovering back-to-back onside kicks before falling just short 25-19.

7. Timberline (4-0) — The Wolves stayed perfect with a solid 33-7 victory over Meridian at home Friday night, reaching 4-0 for the first time in a decade.

8. Kendrick (4-0) — The four-time reigning Class 1A state champions delivered another statement with a stunning 102-0 shutout victory over Clearwater Valley on Friday night.

9. Lakeland (5-0) — The Hawks soared to 5-0 with an impressive 35-7 victory over previously ranked Post Falls at home Friday night. Running back Griffin Tamagni powered the attack with 155 yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries in the convincing win over their regional rivals.

10. Sugar-Salem (4-1) — The Diggers bounced back from their Week 4 loss with a solid 35-14 victory over Kimberly on Friday night. The reigning 4A state champions have won six of the last seven state titles and continue to show the championship mettle that has made them a perennial contender.

11. Homedale (4-0) — The Trojans stayed perfect with a dominant 62-21 victory over Jerome at home Friday night, showing the explosive offensive potential that has them among the state's undefeated teams.

12. Fruitland (4-0) — The Grizzlies remained undefeated with a 50-23 victory over Nampa Christian, getting another spectacular performance from quarterback Titus Vidlak, who threw for 355 yards and five touchdowns while adding 70 rushing yards and another score. The program continues its impressive resurgence.

13. Madison (3-2) — The Bobcats bounced back with a crucial 32-24 road victory over Blackfoot, getting 143 rushing yards and two touchdowns from Brock Hammond. Despite their record, both losses have come by a combined two points to top-10 teams, proving they belong among the state's best.

14. Highland (4-1) — The Rams stayed hot with a 38-23 victory over Thunder Ridge at home Friday night, getting 147 rushing yards from Cedric Mitchell.

15. Sandpoint (5-0) — The Bulldogs reached 5-0 for the first time since 2004 with a 56-15 victory over Pocatello on Thursday night at Washington-Grizzly Stadium on the University of Montana campus.

19. Carey (4-0) — The Panthers extended their winning streak to 14 games with a 50-6 victory over Richfield on Friday night, continuing their dominant run as the reigning 1A state champions.

20. North Fremont (4-0) — The Huskies maintained their perfect record during their bye week, staying positioned well among the undefeated programs statewide.

21. West Side (2-1) — The defending 3A state champions, who have won five of the last six state titles, held their position during their bye week, benefiting from other teams' struggles.

22. Coeur d'Alene (2-2) — The Vikings held their position during their bye week after starting the season 0-2, but winning their last two games has them right back in it.

23. Capital (2-2) ↓1 The Eagles drop just one spot despite their 55-49 loss to Rocky Mountain, proving they are for real. Sophomore Quincey Clay's 335 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns showed this program has explosive potential.

24. Blackfoot (2-2) — The Broncos stay in the rankings despite their 32-24 loss to Madison, with both of their losses coming against ranked opponents by a combined 14 points.

25. Twin Falls (3-1) ↑NR The Bruins enter the rankings after a dominant 45-0 shutout victory over Canyon Ridge at home Friday night. With their only loss a 1-point defeat to Sandpoint, Twin Falls has proven they belong among the state's top programs.

DROPPED OUT: Post Falls (2-2) fell out of the rankings after a 35-7 loss to Lakeland.
