What was supposed to be one of the best non-league games of the California high school football season turned into a snooze fest on Thursday as Sierra Canyon crushed Orange Lutheran 41-9.

Orange Lutheran opened the game with a little bit of momentum. After Kiingbaraka Kizzie grabbed an interception that tipped off a Sierra Canyon receiver's hands, Aiden Migirdichian drilled a field goal for the game's first score. But it was basically all Sierra Canyon from start to finish. 

OLu's only other score was a highlight touchdown right before halftime when Matthew Zapien returned a kick that was blocked by Marcus Fakatou. By the time that occurred, Sierra Canyon had already built a 27-3 lead.

Sir Homer King Webb had two catches for 55 yards and the touchdown on Sierra Canyon's second drive, and QB Laird Finkel threw his second touchdown pass to OL Brayden Tautolo to put the Trailblazers up 14-3 eight minutes into the first quarter. Before the quarter was over, CB Havon Finney scored a 62-yard punt return touchdown, and Jaxsen Stokes scored his first of three rushing touchdowns with 7:23 left in the second. He would score the game's two final touchdowns, the only two of the second half for either team.

Sierra Canyon moves to 5-0 and is the heavy favorite to go 10-0 after giving up just one offensive touchdown through five game. Orange Lutheran falls to 3-2 with an upcoming bye week followed by games against Mater Dei and St. John Bosco.

3RD QUARTER:

0:35 – Sierra Canyon 41, Orange Lutheran 9: It's another short Jaxsen Stokes touchdown run to cap a patient Trailblazers drive.

3RD QUARTER – Sierra Canyon 34, Orange Lutheran 9: Jaxsen Stokes takes a short run to the end zone to finish another long Sierra Canyon touchdown drive, which was helped by 35 penalty yards.

2ND QUARTER:

0:13 – Sierra Canyon 27, Orange Lutheran 9: Signs of life from the Lancers. Marcus Fakatou blocks a Sierra Canyon kick and Matthew Zapien returns it for a touchdown. Sierra Canyon blocks the PAT in turn.

7:23 – Sierra Canyon 27, Orange Lutheran 3: The Trailblazers are all over Orange Lutheran now after a 16-yard run from Jaxsen Stokes.

1ST QUARTER:

LATE 1ST QUARTER – Sierra Canyon 20, Orange Lutheran 3: Havon "Hollywood" Finney takes a punt return 62 yards to the house, and the rout is already on. Sierra Canyon missed the PAT.

3:58 – Sierra Canyon 14, Orange Lutheran 3: Sierra Canyon pulls out a trick play for another touchdown – QB Laird Finkel to OL Brayden Tautolo.

MID-1ST QUARTER: Sierra Canyon turns the Lancers over on down right around midfield.

7:59 – Sierra Canyon 7, Orange Lutheran 3: Sierra Canyon quickly takes its first lead with an eight-play, 80-yard drive. Sir Homer King Webb had two catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.

EARLY 1ST QUARTER – Orange Lutheran 3, Sierra Canyon 0: Aiden Migirdichian drills a 31-yard field goal to give OLu a 3-0 lead.

1ST QUARTER: Freshman Kiingbaraka Kizzee intercepts a ball off a Sierra Canyon receiver's hands and returns it 40 yards to the five-yard line for his first high school pick.
