With several teams off last week, there wasn’t a lot of shake-up in the Texas top 25 high school football rankings.
Aledo rallied to beat Denton Ryan, 15-14, and extend its district winning streak to 131 straight games. The Bearcats have not lost a district game since 2007. Remarkable.
The only top 25 team that lost last week was Canyon West Plains, which fell to Argyle Liberty Christian, 41-35, in overtime, for its first loss of the season. West Plains dropped out of the rankings with the setback, clearing the way for unbeaten Fort Bend Ridge Point to enter at No. 25.
None of our ranked teams face each other this week, but there are some intriguing match-ups, including DeSoto at No. 4 Duncanville, Sulphur Springs at No. 11 Celina and Tyler Chapel Hill at No. 17 Kilgore.
Here are our new weekly rankings:

The Bearcats have now won 131 consecutive district games over a span of 18 seasons. It’s a pretty safe bet these teams will meet again in the postseason, like they did in 2024.

The Raiders came oh-so-close to ending No. 6 Aledo’s incredible district winning streak, only to come up one point short.
