Our list of active 20-game win streaks includes 24 teams as we head into National Week 6.
That's four more than we had last week as only one team on last week's edition lost while five more teams reached the 20 consecutive-win mark. National list of active 20-game high school football win streaks
As long as they continue to win, the Marion Local [Maria Stein, OH] Flyers will continue to be the top team on this list. The Flyers won comfortably in a 40-7 rout of the New Bremen [OH] Cardinals Friday night to get their 69th straight win, and they'll go for No. 70 this coming Friday against the Versailles [OH] Tigers.
The second-place team on our list was also in action, and the Garden City [NY] Trojans picked up their 56th straight win in a 56-7 victory over the Baldwin [NY] Bruins.
Five teams also joined our list of teams on active win streaks of 20 or more games. The Celina [TX] Bobcats, Grimsley [Greensboro, NC] Whirlies, Indian Valley [Gnadenhutten, OH] Braves, North Oconee [Bogart, GA] Titans, and Randle [Richmond, TX] Lions will be here moving forward until their next loss whenever that comes.
Dutch Fork was the only team team with a win streak of at least 20 games to lose
The Dutch Fork [Irmo, SC] Silver Foxes had won 24 straight games headed into their Friday night game at Oceanside Collegiate Academy [Mt. Pleasant, SC]. The ride finally ended, however, in a 24-20 loss to the Landsharks, and the three-time defending South Carolina SCHSL Class 5A champions will take a week off to regroup before hosting the Chapin [SC] Eagles on October 3. Ironically, the Eagles were the first team the Silver Foxes beat in their long run that just ended.
