ALHPARETTA, GA, Aug. 29 — The No. 23 Milton [GA] Eagles defeated the Alpharetta [GA] Raiders, 31-6, Friday night.
The Eagles finished the 2024 season ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation behind the top-ranked Mater Dei [Santa Ana, CA] Monarchs after finishing 15-0 and winning Georgia's GHSA Class 5A title.
But 2025 has been a different story. The Eagles lost their opener, 20-13, to the No. 12 Buford [GA] Wolves and dropped from No. 14 to No. 25 after the first week.
Last weekend, they rebounded with a 24-17 win at The First Academy [Orlando, FL] Royals, and regained a couple of spots in the rankings. They are heavy favorites heading into Week 3 at Alpharetta.
