Week 7 is rivalry week in District 2-5A.

One of those rivalries taking place this week is Ouachita Parish heading west across the Ouachita River to face against West Monroe. The rivalry has been a one-sided one with the Rebels winning 30 of the last 31, but the Lions defeated West Monroe in 2021.

The Rebels are 5-1 and have wins against Catholic (Baton Rouge) and Alexandria during their three-game winning streak. West Monroe receiver Trez Davis is a Tulane commit and had 284 total yards with three touchdowns against ASH last week.

The Lions fell last week to Ruston, but are looking for their first winning season since 2021. Montrell Conner has 1,152 total yards and 24 touchdowns at quarterback for Ouachita this season.
