Denton Guyer has perhaps the most impressive 5-2 overall record of any team in Texas. The Wildcats lost to undefeated Aledo, 21-14, and defending Class 6A Division I state champion North Crowley, 28-27.

In the last two games, Guyer knocked off defending district champion Coppell and Lewisville Hebron to improve to 3-0 in District 5-6A play. The Wildcats are tied for first place with undefeated Lewisville.

Marcus lost its first two district games against Lewisville and Lewisville Hebron by five and seven points, respectively. The Marauders are coming off a 42-21 victory over Denton Braswell.
Guyer senior running back Kaedyn Cobbs has tallied 653 yards and 16 touchdowns in six games this season.
