For the first time in 38 years, Kansas State and Army will face off on the field. The Wildcats host Army during a Week 2 matchup on September 6 from Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
The game coincides with Fort Riley Day, a celebration and tribute to the soldiers and families of Fort Riley, Kansas. Military vehicles will be showcased, and service members will participate in events throughout the day.
Last season, Kansas State went from winning the Pop-Tarts Bowl (2023-2024) to winning the Rate Bowl. The Wildcats had the same overall record as the previous year, but nearly fell below .500 in the Big 12. Chris Klieman returns for his sixth season as coach.

Founded in 1890, the Black Knights had a .500 record during the 2023-2024 season. This past season, Army became AAC and Independence Bowl Champions. It was a successful first year in the AAC. It will be a dozen seasons as Army coach for Jeff Monken.
