Xabi Alonso had one pre-season game to prepare for the upcoming season as Real Madrid took on WSG Tirol in Austria. Real Madrid defeated the Austrian side 4-0, with multiple players getting minutes. Along with many stars getting minutes to prepare, a couple of players were also out for the match due to injury.

Midfielders like Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, and the captain, Federico Valverde, were out for the match against Tirol. Xabi Alonso played Aurelien Tchouameni, Arda Guler, Dani Ceballos, Roberto Martin, and Thiago Pitarch.

With the La Liga match against Osasuna tomorrow, Real Madrid unveiled the squad list, which included Federico Valverde. The midfielder was injured ahead of the friendly match against Tirol and recovered in time for the first match day of the new La Liga season.

Valverde is the captain of the team, and due to his recovery being fast, Diario AS reports that the Uruguayan midfielder will start against Osasuna. Valverde played in all six matches in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup this summer under Xabi Alonso.

Expected Real Madrid Line Up vs Osasuna

Thibaut Courtois is expected to start as the goalkeeper with a back four of Alvaro Carreras, Dean Huijsen, Eder Militao, and Trent Alexander-Arnold in front of him. In the midfield, Valverde is expected to play along with Tchouameni and Arda Guler in the midfield.

In the attack, Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and Rodrygo, despite the Brazilian winger's rumored departure from the club. Brahim Diaz may also be an option to start ahead of Rodrygo.

Franco Mastantuono is also expected to make an appearance against Osasuna, whether it’s in the right wing or an attacking midfielder role.

Gonzalo Garcia and Dani Carvajal are also expected to come off the bench as the young striker impressed during the summer, while Carvajal’s return is anticipated by Madrid fans.
