Kylian Mbappe is once again called up for the French national team as France looks to qualify for the World Cup. He played all three games for Real Madrid at the start of the new season and is set to play his first two World Cup qualifiers.
Ahead of the match against Ukraine, Mbappe spoke about the busy schedule he and other players in Europe have had over the last few years. Mbappe played a total of 59 matches last season with Real Madrid alone.
Games with France included means Mbappe played 65 matches in total for club and country last year. With a new season just beginning, Mbappe questions whether any player can perform at their best throughout the whole season in modern football.
Mbappe believes that players should rest more to perform better on the pitch.
Kylian Mbappe: "I don't know if we are prepared to play 60 matches. I don't recall ever seeing a player perform at their best for 60 matches. We need more rest."
