Earlier this week, Nottingham Forest appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Nottingham decided to part ways with Nuno despite the Portuguese manager leading the squad at City Ground to the club's most successful season in decades after taking charge in 2023.
Postecoglou, meanwhile, was relieved of his duties as Tottenham Hotspur's head coach in June this year after winning Spurs' first major trophy in 17 years in the 2024-25 campaign. Now, the 60-year-old tactician has signed a two-year contract with Nottingham and is set to make his managerial debut this weekend.
Now, ahead of their upcoming Premier League match, Postecoglou has made it clear that he 'wants to win trophies' at Nottingham while mentioning that there are 'perfect conditions' for him to succeed at the club.
What did new Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou say?
During his tenure at Tottenham, Postecoglou told reporters that he has always won silverware by his second season in charge of a squad.
When recently asked if he aims to claim silverware in his very first year at Nottingham, the former Australia national team coach replied that’s what he will aim for, and candidly admitted that he may have to bag a trophy in his debut campaign to further extend his stay at Forest.

"I have won a couple in my first as well, at Celtic I won a double in my first. Of course I can, I may have to [win a trophy in first season] to get a second year here. I've said it already, that's what I want to do. I want to win trophies. That's that's what I've done my whole career, and that's what I want to try and do here," as per GOAL.
"Every club wants to be successful, but since the president took over the club those ambitions are backed up with actions. Perfect conditions for me."
Postecoglou's debut match for Nottingham is against Arsenal in the Premier League on September 13 at the Emirates Stadium.
