Tottenham Hotspur vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers brings together two sides on opposite ends of the table.

Spurs enter the weekend flying high in third place, unbeaten in their last four across all competitions and fresh from a routine EFL Cup win over Doncaster. Thomas Frank has made an immediate impact in North London, with 10 points from his first five league games leaving them level with Arsenal on points.

History is also on their side as they have gone 15 straight home league matches without losing to a side starting bottom of the table.

Wolves, meanwhile, sit rock-bottom after five straight Premier League defeats, though they did at least find respite with a midweek cup win over Everton. Vitor Pereira’s men risk joining the short list of clubs to open a top-flight season with six consecutive losses, and their habit of trailing at half-time will concern fans.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

Tottenham vs. Wolves lineups, team news

James Maddison continues to rehabilitate from ACL surgery and is not expected to play until June 2026. Dejan Kulusevski will be sidelined until late November with knee problems.

Radu Dragusin is rehabilitating from ACL injury and still working towards full fitness, with a realistic target of mid-October. Also, the midfield will be short on Yves Bissouma, who is recovering from knee injury with no potential date confirmed.

However, there is better news surrounding Pape Matar Sarr, who missed the Carabao Cup tie against Doncaster as a precaution after a thigh problem. Thomas Frank suggested the issue was minor and confirmed there is a strong chance the Senegal international could feature against Wolves.

Elsewhere, Dominic Solanke has been back training on grass and is progressing well and could come of the bench if Frank decides to.

Randal Kolo Muani, is also being closely assessed following a minor thigh issue. Defensively, Ben Davies is battling a knee problem while youngster Kota Takai, also dealing with an ankle concern.

Overall, Spurs will hope to rely on a midfield trio of Palhinha, Bergvall and Sarr if the latter proves fit, while Richarlison is expected to lead the line ahead of Kudus and Simons.

Tottenham predicted starting XI (4-3-3, right to left): Vicario (GK) — Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Udogie — Sarr, Palhinha, Bergvall — Kudus, Richarlison, Simons

Injured: Maddison (knee), Kulusevski (knee), Dragusin (knee), Bissouma (knee), Davies (knee), Solanke (ankle, doubt), Takai (ankle/doubt), Kolo Muani (thigh, doubt), Sarr (thigh/doubt)

Suspended: None

Wolves will head into Saturday’s clash with Tottenham boosted by the return of Jorgen Strand Larsen, who made his comeback from injury in the EFL Cup tie against Everton.

The Norwegian striker played 68 minutes and came through without any problems, meaning he is expected to lead the line once again this weekend.

Ladislav Krejci has strengthened his claim in the midfield for a starting role after scoring against Leeds last weekend. He is likely to partner Joao Gomes with Bellegarde and André offering competition if required.

The injury situation remains relatively stable for Vitor Pereira side. Leon Chiwome is ruled out long term after suffering an ACL rupture earlier this year, while Andre Trindade is sidelined with a calf issue and has no confirmed return date. Except these setbacks, Wolves will have relatively full squad to choose from.

Wolves predicted starting XI (3-4-2-1, right to left): Sa (GK) — Agbadou, Mosquera, Gomes — Tchatchoua, Gomes, Krejci, Gomes — Lopez, MunetsiStrand Larsen

Injured: Chiwome (knee), Trindade (calf)

Suspended: None
