One of the biggest rivalries in Europe will savour an extra meeting earlier than expected as Portuguese giants Porto and Benfica clash in the quarterfinals of the Taca de Portugal.
The game known as O Classico has been played 258 times since the first meeting in 1912. This will be the 38th time they have met in the Portuguese league cup, and the first since 2021 when they met even earlier, with Porto smashing Benfica 3-0 at home in the Round of 16.
Porto has won four of the last five O Classico meetings in the cup, with famous players like Vitinha, Hulk, Radamel Falcao, Andre Gomes, Evanilson, and Enzo Perez all scoring goals in those games.
