Nigeria will attempt to keep their 2026 World Cup hopes alive this week as they face Gabon in the playoff semifinals of the CAF qualifying section.
The Super Eagles produced a remarkable 4-0 win over Benin in October to claim second place in their group behind South Africa and earn a spot in the African playoff round, along with Gabon, Cameroon, and DR Congo.
Eric Chelle's men must defeat Gabon to progress to Sunday's final of the mini-tournament being staged in Morocco. The winner of that showpiece will then enter the inter-confederation playoff bracket in the early part of next year, where two teams can earn qualification to the finals in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
