Brighton vs. Newcastle lineups, team news

Fabian Hurzeler needs to take a few decisions as some of his first-team regulars are doubtful for this home game against Newcastle.

Players like Solly March, Jack Hinshelwood and Adam Webster continue to remain on the sidelines with their respective injury issues. Meanwhile Kaoru Mitoma and Joel Veltman are doubtful for this match, and their availability will be decided on assessments right before kickoff.

Despite the own goal against Wolves, Bart Verbruggen is expected to start in goal with Lewis Dunk and Jan Paul van Hecke set to lead the backline for the hosts.

Carlos Baleba is expected to partner Yasin Ayari in midfield providing stability to Brighton whilst Danny Welbeck is expected to start in attack with Brajan Gruda and Georginio Rutter being great supporting acts.

Brighton predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Verbruggen (GK) — Kadioglu, Dunk, Van Hecke, Wieffer — Baleba, Ayari — Gruda, Rutter, Minteh — Welbeck

Newcastle also have their fair share of injury concerns as players like Yoane Wissa, Valentino Livramento and Lewis Hall are completely ruled out of this fixture.

Dan Burn fractured his arm but should be able to play with it whereas Jacob Ramsey is returning from an ankle injury and could start from the bench. Eddie Howe may field an unchanged lineup that helped them secure victory over Nottingham Forest in the last league clash.

Nick Pope will start in goal with Burn and Sven Botman expected to lead the defense for the visitors. In midfield, Bruno Guimaraes will be partnered by Joelinton and Sandro Tonali as they complement each other's style of play.

Nick Woltemade has been in exceptional goalscoring form for Newcastle and also for Germany and is expected to lead the lines for the Magpies.
