The United States are back at the World Cup after missing out on the 2018 edition.

Gregg Berhalter has a squad with a number of exciting young players led by Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic, while the likes of Tyler Adams, Brenden Aaronson, and Weston McKennie could also have breakout campaigns on the global stage.

Wales are first up for the USMNT. LAFC star Gareth Bale is his nations's major star as they head into a first World Cup since 1958.

Below is the latest information on the potential starting lineup that Berhalter could choose ahead of the Group B match against Wales on November 21.

USA lineup vs Wales

Goalkeeper Matt Turner (groin) is a doubt for the USA but midfielder Weston McKennie (thigh) is expected to be in contention.

Right-back Sergino Dest has declared himself in contention to feature, despite hamstring injury fears. Speaking at a press conference, he said: "I'm feeling good. Of course, after the last game, I had a little bit of fatigue. Right now, it's going well. I'm ready to play." He spoke of his excitment for the Wales game.

Midfielder Luca de la Torre (hamstring) and attacker Josh Sargent (calf) missed club games in October, but were deemed sufficiently fit to join the World Cup squad.

USA projected lineup (4-3-3, right to left): 1. Turner (GK) — 2. Dest, 3. Zimmerman, 13. Ream, 5. A. Robinson — 6. Musah, 4. Adams, 8. McKennie — 21. Weah, 9. Ferreira, 10. Pulisic

  • Injured: Turner (groin)
  • Suspended: none
