Inter Miami and Palmeiras were on the receiving ends of a 2-2 draw in their third and last match in the group stage of the Club World Cup on June 23 at Hard Rock Stadium.
Tadeo Allende opened the scoring for Inter Miami with an assist from Luis Suarez in the 16th minute. The Uruguayan star then doubled the score for the Herons in the 65th minute. However, Palmeiras were able to find the back of the net twice in the last minutes, ending the clash in a draw.
Both Inter Miami and Palmeiras have qualified for the Round of 16 of the Club World Cup from Group A, which also included Porto and Al Ahly.
Despite the qualification to the next round of the competition, Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi appeared to be 'angry' and unsatisfied after the match.

After the final whistle, Messi appeared to be unimpressed with Inter Miami's display against Palmeiras and was seen standing on the pitch while staring into space with his hands on his hips. The Argentine icon then left the field in haste, walking towards the dressing room and shaking his head.
Commentator Moises Linares spoke (comments via GOAL) about Messi's departure and said,

Even though it ensured Inter Miami's qualification to the next stage of the Club World Cup, Messi's disappointment over the result of the match was understandable, given the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner's achievements and mentality towards the game.
Messi & Co. will now lock horns with Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16 of the Club World Cup on June 29, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
