Manchester City will host Burnley at the Etihad in their sixth Premier League match of the season on Saturday

After being undefeated against Manchester United and Arsenal in their past two league games, City are ninth in the top flight with seven points.

Burnley, meanwhile, are 16th in the Premier League table with four points after three losses, one draw, and a win. They were also eliminated from the Carabao Cup in midweek by League One Cardiff City.

City have a good record against Burnley with 14 victories in 18 Premier League games, set against the Clarets' solitary win back in 2015.

Burnley have never won against City at the Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland, Nico O'Reilly, and Abdukodir Khusanov all left the field with apparent injuries against Arsenal.

O'Reilly maintained his place in the starting XI for the 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Huddersfield Town, while Haaland is expected to be involved this weekend. However, Khusanov is set to be out for a couple of weeks.

City will also be missing Mateo Kovacic, Rayan Cherki, Omar Marmoush, and Rayan Ait-Nouri. Cherki is reported to be closing in on a return to training following his thigh injury,

Along with Zeki Amdouni’s long-term absence due to a cruciate ligament tear, Burnley will be without Connor Roberts, Bruun Larsen, and Jordan Beyer.

The Clarets head coach, Scott Parker, is expected to deploy a back five and field a similar lineup against City to the one he deployed versus Liverpool, where the Reds were unable to find a way through until Mohamed Salah's penalty deep into stoppage time
