Lionel Messi has once again put himself in history books. The Rosario native became the fastest player to 70 goal contributions in the Major League Soccer.
He achieved this milestone in only 46 MLS matches, surpassing 2019 MVP Carlos Vela who needed 55 games during that season.
ESPN revealed the Messi stat before the Inter Miami match against DC. United and it showed Messi had reached 70 goal contributions.
The 2022 World Cup champion then stepped onto the pitch and produced another defining night for Inter Miami.
Messi created a trademark assist for Tadeo Allende in the first half and later scored twice against D.C. United.
His performance lifted Miami toward the playoffs with brilliance that only an eight time Ballon d’Or winner can consistently deliver.
