The completion of the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League group stage draw has set in motion the latest chapter in the competition with teams from across the continent dreaming of reaching the final in Dublin on May 22, 2024.

On the back of the Champions League group stage draw, the Europa League followed on its heels as the European club schedule begins to fill up for the months ahead.

The Premier League is represented by three teams in 2023/24, with West Ham's UEFA Europa Conference League title win sealing their spot, alongside Liverpool and European debutants Brighton & Hove Albion.

Teams in the Europa League group stage draw

The draw comprised of 32 teams, with 12 as automatic qualifiers, 10 as Europa League playoff winners and 10 from the UEFA Champions League playoffs or third qualifying round League path.

These teams were divided into four pots of eight teams, with the eight groups taking one team from each pot. Teams from the same association, such as Liverpool and West Ham, cannot be drawn in the same group.

When does the Europa League group stage start?

The Europa League and Europa Conference League group stages both start on September 21 and end on December 14.

Here are the group-stage dates for both competitions.

  • Matchday 4: 9 November
  • Matchday 5: 30 November
  • Matchday 6: 14 December

Knockout stage schedule

The draw for the 2023/24 Europa League Round of 16 will take place on December 18, 2023. 

The draw for the remaining rounds (quarterfinals and semifinals) of the 2023/24 Europa League knockout stage will take place on March 15, 2024.
