Dominic Calvert-Lewin has addressed his disappointing first appearance in a Leeds United shirt, which culminated in his new team being knocked out of the Carabao Cup second round.
Daniel Farke's men bowed out of the competition on Tuesday night (August 26) after a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday in 90 minutes preceded a loss on penalties to the Championship side.
Calvert Lewin made his debut for Leeds at Hillsborough after recently joining on a free transfer from Everton.
It ultimately turned out to be a debut to forget for the striker as he squandered three opportunities from close-range in the dying moments of the match.
Had the 28-year-old converted just one of the chances that fell his way late on, he would have completed the away side's turnaround and sent them through to the third round.
Matters got even worse for Calvert-Lewin in the penalty shoot-out as he skied his team's second spot-kick. His miss was sandwiched in-between misses from teammates Sean Longstaff and Joel Piroe.
The home side progressed as they converted all three of their penalties, leaving Calvert-Lewin and the other unsuccessful penalty takers distraught and with much to ponder.

What has Calvert-Lewin said about his performance?
Shortly after making his debut for the Whites, Calvert-Lewin took to social media to reflect on his first outing for his new team.
"Very proud to make by debut for this great club, but also disappointed with how it went," he said on his official Instagram page.
"I came here to give everything and that's what I will continue to do. Can't wait to see you all at Elland Road."
The lack of sharpness the striker displayed against Sheffield Wednesday is likely down to him being short on match fitness, as he did not have a proper pre-season.
Calvert-Lewin will be hoping to put his debut display behind him and get off the mark in a Leeds shirt this coming Saturday (August 30), when Farke's men take on Newcastle United in the Premier League at Elland Road.
