4-4-2

Donnarumma

Hakimi, Pacho, van Dijk, Mendes

UEFA Champions League winners PSG dominated the men's FIFA Best 11, with three of the back four and five players overall in the 11.

Barcelona also had two players, while Real Madrid, Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool all had one.

The most shocking omission was that of Kylian Mbappe, who was left out of the XI despite winning the Pichichi trophy as the top goal scorer in Spain during his first year with Real Madrid. Mohammed Salah, who won Premier League Player of the Year, was also left off.

Having won the European Championship, England dominated the women's Best 11, with four players in the lineup, the second-most of any nation.

Spain continued to be the most dominant country in this category, however, with seven players in the lineup, led by Best Women's Player winner Aitana Bonmati.

How is the Best FIFA 11 decided?

Nominations for each award category throughout FIFA's The Best awards are chosen by a vague and unexplained process, which FIFA claims is done by "FIFA in collaboration with football stakeholders."

From there, winners are chosen by a jury that features individuals from four different categories. There are current coaches of each national team, current captains of each national team, one journalist chosen from each territory, and a fan vote on FIFA's official website.

Each voter is asked to rank their top three nominees in each category, with the first-place vote receiving five points, the second-place vote receiving three points, and the third-place vote receiving one point. The points are tallied up amongst each nominee and a winner is selected.

For The Best FIFA 11, this process is done for each position, and the top vote-getters are organized into a viable lineup.

For the 2025 awards, the selection period is based on performances from August 11, 2024 to August 2, 2025.

Is the Best FIFA 11 the same as the FIFPro World XI?

No, The Best FIFA 11 is not the same as the FIFPro World XI. It is possible — often common — for the two to have significant crossover or even be exactly the same, but this is down to sheer circumstance.

The Best FIFA 11 is selected by a process overseen by FIFA at their The Best awards ceremony.

The FIFPro World XI is a separate entity overseen by FIFPro, the worldwide players' association.

At its core, the FIFPro World XI is selected by fellow players from across the globe. As FIFPro likes to trumpet, the FIFPro World XI is "by the players, for the players."

The FIFPro World 11 is usually announced back in November. The 2025 lineup was announced back on November 2, and is as follows:
