Bayern Munich's 2025/26 preseason: Fixtures, squad updates and transfer latest for Vincent Kompany's side image

Vincent Kompany guided Bayern Munich back to the Bundesliga title in his debut season in Germany, but now he aims to take the club to greater heights in the 2025/26 campaign.

The Bavarians are in a rebuilding phase, with some crucial personnel changes in their squad, as Kompany looks to improve on all aspects from last season.

Led by Kompany, Bayern Munich are determined to contend for the UEFA Champions League crown, after losing out in the quarterfinals to Inter Milan in 2024/25.

However, the German champions have their work cut out in the summer transfer window as they have only signed Jonathan Tah and Tom Bischof on free transfers.

Bayern Munich need to push for more attacking signings, especially after the departures of Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane, and a fresh injury setback for Jamal Musiala.

Preseason will be crucial for Kompany and also for his emerging academy graduates, who will look to prove their point in front of the Belgian.

Bayern Munich's 2025/26 transfers, latest rumours

Bayern Munich have endured a tough time convincing players to join the club this summer.

While Tah settled into the team at the Club World Cup and delivered some good performances, Bischof is still getting accustomed to his new setting.

Kompnay is pushing to sign Liverpool's Luis Diaz, with an opening bid rejected by the English champions, as they hold out for £70m [$93m] for the Colombian.

They have also registered interest in Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku and RB Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simmons.

The Bavarians have also flagged up an interest in Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade following a sensational U21 Euros last month in Slovakia.

The club also expect some players to leave this summer, with Bryan Zaragoza, Sacha Boey and Kim Min-jae all on Kompany's possible exit list, if deals can be agreed for their departures.
