Anthony Gordon hasn't had the best start to the 2025/26 campaign as all of his three goals have come in the two Champions League games for Newcastle United.
The Magpies had a rocky start courtesy of several issues off-the-field issues at the start of the season. However, Nick Woltemade's addition to the team has significantly changed the outlook of the team.
The former Stuttgart striker joined Newcastle United for a hefty £69 million ($93m) and courtesy of his performances he has lived up to the hype by netting four goals in six appearances for his new team.
The young Germany international has quietly filled up the void left by Alexander Isak, who moved to Liverpool on a blockbuster deadline day transfer.
But he needs to continue this form deeper into the current season to be an ideal successor for the Swedish forward.
Currently, on international duty, Gordon has made a tall claim for his Newcastle United teammate, Woltemade as he compared him to his compatriot Harry Kane in terms of their playing style.

"I think they do play a very similar style of football, in terms of they want to almost be the quarterback - they want to come in and create, they don't just want to finish the chances like a typical striker would do," Gordon told the reporters by comparing Woltemade to Kane.
"For me, personally, I think it helps me - I think my style suits playing with that style of striker, because I can run off them. If defenders want to go and engage with them, I can run off the back, so I think it's really positive for me and I really enjoy it."
Why Gordon compared Woltemade with Kane?
Woltemade has adapted to his new surrounding with aplomb as his linkup play with Gordon and Anthony Elanga was on display as Newcastle hammered Union Gilloise 4-0 in the latest Champions League clash.
Despite his 6'6'' stature, he is extremely smooth with the ball at his feet and tends to find the right pass whilst holding up the play for Eddie Howe's men.

His ability to drop deep and also drift wide has specifically drawn comparisons with Kane, who is also playing in a deeper role at Bayern Munich this season in Jamal Musiala's absence.
Despite that, he has hammered 18 goals in 10 games for the Bavarians, something that Woltemade would also like to replicate for Newcastle United.
Moreover, Gordon should now focus on putting up strong performances for England as they face Wales in a friendly on Friday before taking the field against Latvia in a World Cup qualifier on October 15.
The winger is still looking to cement his spot in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for next year's World Cup and with the number of attacking options available, Gordon needs to be at his best to be on the plane next year.
