Liverpool are preparing a record-breaking bid worth approximately £130m [$175m] for Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise as part of their succession planning for Mohamed Salah, according to the Fichajes.

The Reds are targeting the 23-year-old French international for the 2026 summer transfer window in what would eclipse their previous transfer record set by Alexander Isak earlier this summer.

The club's hierarchy views Olise as the natural heir to Mohammad Salah, whose current contract expires in 2027.

Olise, who moved the Bayern Munich last year from Crystal Palace took Bundesliga by storm.

The Frenchman scored 20 goals assisted 23 times in 55 matches in all competitions that saw him claim the club's Player of the Year Award.

His play has also drawn praise from pundits and former players across Germany who have tabbed him as a combination of Bayern legends Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

The adaptable attacking player can play on either wing and has the ability to impact the game through his own scoring and his playmaking abilities.

Chelsea, Manchester City also interested in Liverpool target

Reportedly, Liverpool are not the only Premier League which has shown interest in the Bayern Munich star. Chelsea and Manchester City have both registered their interest in securing Olise's services according to reports from Europe.

Bayern Munich are reportedly trying everything to retain their star performer and are currently negotiating a contract extension that would keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2031.

The proposed deal includes a substantial salary increase designed to ward off interest from Premier League clubs.
