Chelsea completed the signing of Jorrel Hato from Ajax on Sunday, thereby continuing the rich tradition of Dutch players playing at Stamford Bridge.

Hato joins a long list of players who have joined the West London club during the ongoing summer transfer window, but his importance cannot be overstated.

The 19-year-old is the only defender that the Blues have signed so far in the window, and he is expected to play a key role during the upcoming season.

Hato is viewed by many as a backup for Marc Cucurella, given his ability to play at left-back and centre-back.

Despite still being a teenager, Hato made 111 appearances for Ajax, and he has also featured for the Dutch national team.

So, he comes in with a fair amount of experience under his belt, and Chelsea fans would be hoping that he can live up to his potential at the club.

Jorrel Hato reveals his four strongest attributes to the Chelsea fans

Soon after he arrived at Stamford Bridge, Hato did an interview with Chelsea’s official YouTube channel, where he introduced himself to the fans.

When asked to name his best attribute as a footballer, Hato said: “I’m fast. I’m strong. I’m intelligent. I have a good pass in between the lines. I think they are the best strengths I have.”

Hato also opened up about the role that Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca played in convincing him to sign for the Blues.

While Chelsea fans would be excited about the signing of Hato on the whole, the attribute that they would be most looking forward to is his passing out from the back.

It's a quality that the Blues have lacked in the recent past, and it’ll be exciting to see how Hato’s passing improves Chelsea’s overall gameplay next season.
