Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba has reportedly emerged as one of the top names on Manchester United’s transfer target list this summer.

The Red Devils have already made some significant additions, including Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo in the summer transfer window, and reports suggest that United are keen on signing Baleba to bolster their midfield.

Brighton, meanwhile, are not interested in parting ways with the Cameroonian star and have estimated him at £100m ($135m) in order to block potential offers. Despite the hefty price tag, Man United’s reported interest in Baleba continues to prevail.

Now, amid this situation, Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler has made his stance clear on Baleba’s future at the club.

What did the Brighton boss say about Man United transfer target Carlos Baleba?

Baleba, who arrived at Brighton from Ligue 1 club Lille in 2023, recorded four goals and two assists in 40 appearances last season.

While speaking to the press on Friday morning, Hurzeler claimed that he is extremely confident of Baleba continuing with Brighton for the upcoming season, and said,

"I am very, very confident. I didn't see any change. He seems to be in a very good place, enjoying it with his team-mates," as per GOAL.

Even though he has been out of action for Brighton’s last four pre-season clashes due to a knee problem, Hurzeler has also mentioned that the 21-year-old is expected to return to the pitch soon.

Brighton are set to kick off their 2025/26 Premier League season with their opening match against Fulham on August 16 at Falmer Stadium.
