FC Barcelona will have two more games before the start of the September international break in La Liga. They will take on Levante and Rayo Vallecano, but the club may be without three players due to ongoing registration problems with La Liga, which have not yet allowed the players to be officially added to the squad list.
One of them is summer signing Roony Bardghji, who impressed during the preseason.
Bardghji, along with Gerard Martin and Wojciech Szczęsny, missed the game against Mallorca over the weekend. All three players were expected to be registered, especially Bardghji.
The Swedish winger was set to be registered as a Barca Atletic player, but La Liga considers the player as a first-team player.
The 19-year-old winger cannot be registered with Barcelona’s reserve team. The club prioritized registering Marcus Rashford and Joan Garcia, hence their participation against Mallorca.
FC Barcelona’s plan for Roony Bardghji, Gerard Martin, and Wojciech Szczęsny
According to Diario AS, Barcelona is calm about not registering Roony Bardghji, Gerard Martin, and Wojciech Szczęsny at the moment. All three players may miss the games against Levante and Rayo Vallecano, but could be registered in time for the rest of the season.
Reports from Spain suggest that Hansi Flick is desperate to register Gerard Martin to add depth to the defense. Flick believes that Martin is a versatile player as he can be used as a left center back instead of a left back, like he was used last season.
Szczęsny was the main goalkeeper for Barcelona for the majority of last season, and he is expected to be the second option goalkeeper this season until Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
With the additions of these three players, Barcelona will have a complete squad for this 2025-26 season, with Ter Stegen potentially back by early next year.
