Barcelona are reportedly keeping a close eye on Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy — and for good reason.
A clause in his contract could make one of Europe’s most clinical finishers available for a bargain price next summer, potentially reshaping both Dortmund’s attack and Barca’s transfer plans.
Guirassy, 29, has been a revelation since his €18 million move from Stuttgart in 2024, firing goals at a rate that puts him in the same company as Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, and Robert Lewandowski.
But Dortmund’s joy could soon turn into worry. According to Sky Germany, the striker’s release clause is set to drop again in 2026 as part of a deal that reduces his buyout fee year by year.
Serhou Guirassy's clause that could spark a transfer storm

The new clause, reportedly much lower than last summer’s €75 million figure, has caught the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs — including Barcelona, who see Guirassy as a possible successor to Lewandowski.
The Catalans are said to be watching the situation closely, aware that his contract runs until 2028 but with an escape hatch that keeps getting cheaper.

Interestingly, the clause doesn’t apply to clubs from Saudi Arabia, meaning teams from Europe’s top leagues could have a clear advantage if they make a move.
Despite the noise, Dortmund coach Niko Kovac insists his striker remains focused.
“For me, Serhou is very, very important,” Kovac told Sky. “He remains our insurance policy because he is a key part of this team.”
Guirassy has recently gone three games without a goal — a rare dip for a player usually sharper than a referee’s whistle.
But Kovac isn’t worried, confident his No. 9 will bounce back when the Bundesliga returns with a blockbuster clash against Bayern Munich on October 18.
Dortmund might be bracing for another fight off the pitch, though. If Barcelona decide to test that clause, Signal Iduna Park could be in for a very long summer.
