Why was Barcelona vs. Vissel Kobe friendly cancelled?
As part of an official update, Barcelona confirmed the game - due to take place at Misaki Park - was called off 'due to serious contractual breaches on behalf of the promoter' in Japan.
Barcelona confirmed the remainder of their tour - taking place in South Korea - would go ahead as planned, but in a shock twist, the Vissel Kobe game could now be back on.
As per a report from Diario AS, Vissel Kobe's primary sponsor Rakuten have intervened to pay the amount owed to Barcelona for their participation, and ensure the squad will make the trip and the game will go ahead as planned.
However, refreshed travel plans are now required, with the team not expected to arrive in Japan until the day before the revived fixture.
Barcelona could pocket €15m [$17.5m] for the tour, which could rise to €20m [$23.5m] if a number of factors are met.
