Barcelona have continued their exceptional performance from last season as they have secured 16 points from six matches which includes five wins and a draw.
They recently registered a 3-1 win over Real Oviedo at the Carlos Tartiere Stadium and now they will look to extend that unbeaten streak when they will host Real Sociedad in La Liga on Sunday.
However, the Blaugrana have suffered a major setback ahead of the fixture as their first-choice goalkeeper Joan Garcia is ruled out with an injury.
The Spaniard has undergone a successful knee surgery and as per Barcelona's official social media handle, the 24-year-old is expected to remain on the sidelines for at least 4-6 weeks.
“Joan García underwent surgery this Saturday on a torn medial meniscus in his left knee. Dr Joan Carles Monllau performed an arthroscopy at the Hospital de Barcelona, and it has been confirmed that his recovery time will be between 4 and 6 weeks, depending on how he progresses," the official statement by Barcelona read.
Garcia has been phenomenal for the Catalans ever since making the move from Espanyol this summer as Barcelona has only conceded four goals in six La Liga games this season.

He has also shown great confidence in buildup though he conceded a cheap goal against Oviedo due to poor passing.
Who will replace Garcia in goal for Barcelona?
Garcia had settled in this Barcelona team under Hansi Flick ever since moving to Camp Nou but now in his absence, the Catalans are in a spot of bother with Marc-Andre ter Stegen also out with injury.

Therefore, Wojciech Szczęsny is expected to replace Garcia in goal whereas Diego Kochen is reportedly returning from international duty with United States U20 team will take a place on the bench for Barcelona.
Szczęsny was in fantastic form last season as he overturned his retirement to play for the Catalans and helped the club at a moment of crisis as they won the domestic treble.
Flick is once again counting on the Polish veteran to deliver once again in the next few weeks which includes matches against Sociedad, PSG and Sevilla.
Barcelona will hope that they will have Garcia back to full fitness ahead of the El Clasico against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu on October 26.
