The future is bright, and tall, for the Washington Capitals.

That future specifically is Aliaksei Protas, and he's already proving himself to be a special talent.

Protas is coming off a game with two goals and an assist for the Capitals.

His teammate Ryan Leonard had this to say to reporter Sammi Silber about Protas:

"Made in a laboratory. It's crazy. We all say he's the best player in the league, so it's special. He's a special player."

The future is certainly very, very bright.

Does Aliaksei Protas have a brother?

Aliaksei Protas has a younger brother who was also an NHL Draft pick.

Little bro's name is Ilya, and he was a third-round pick in 2024 by the Capitals. He currently plays in the AHL for the Hershey Bears.

The brothers from Belarus could eventually get the chance to suit up in Washington uniforms together. Given how Aliaksei Protas has already taken the NHL by storm, it'd be extra cool to see him playing with his brother at the top level.
