Alex Ovechkin can't stop scoring goals.

The Washington Capitals' legend is already the NHL's all-time leading goal scorer, having broken Wayne Gretzky's record at the tail end of last season.

But on Wednesday night, Ovi added some more goal history to his ledger. He needed help from teammate Ryan Leonard to do it.

OptaStats shared this accomplishment on X:

"The @Capitals are the first team in NHL history to get multi-goal games from a player 40 or older (Alex Ovechkin) and a player 20 or younger (Ryan Leonard) in the same game."

The feat came in a 7-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Ovechkin, who turned 40 on Sept. 17, scored his two goals on four shots in 16.5 minutes on the ice.

Leonard had a monster game, putting up two goals and two assists in just 13.5 minutes. He's 20 years old, with his next birthday coming on Jan. 21.

For those wondering, Ovechkin is now up to 911 goals in his NHL career. Leonard has now scored 8.

But together on Wednesday night, they made hockey history.

It has to be pretty cool for the younger Capitals players to have grown up watching Ovechkin dominate the NHL, only to get to the NHL and still get to see him on the ice, now as their teammate. And the Sharks were no match for Ovechkin and his goal-scoring buddies.
