The NHL sphere has been waiting to see what happens with former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Carter Hart as he soon makes his long awaited return to the league.
Hart has not played since the midpoint of the 23-24 season with Philly after being recently reinstated to return to the league following his acquittal in court along with his 2018 Canadian World Juniors teammates.
The question at hand is what team takes on the chance on the rusty 27 year old netminder and is willing to live with the baggage that will come with said signing. The answer appears to be a certain Western Conference team that has never been afraid of the noise.
What team has been linked to Carter Hart?
The Vegas Golden Knights have been connected to a Carter Hart signing. This makes sense as their tandem of Adin Hill and Akira Schmid may be solid, but does not exactly strike fear in the opposing forces.
Via insider Frank Seravalli, he expects the Vegas Hart deal to come in at 2 years around a value of $2 million over the course of the contract. The Hart deal likely won't be massive considering he has been out of the game for nearly 2 years, so there is risk to giving him a big contract.
This move could pay off for Vegas if Hart can reacquire the form he showed in net during his Flyers days and provide Vegas stability in the crease on a team with few apparent weaknesses. There is also some controversy involved in making this move, but Vegas has never been a team to shy away from the spotlight.
