Meet Harry Nansi, Maple Leafs prospect and NHL Draft steal image

TL;DR

  • Harry Nansi, a Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, plays for the Owen Sound Attack in the OHL.
  • Nansi was the No. 135 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, a fifth-round selection.
  • He is outperforming his draft position, accumulating 34 points in 26 games.
  • Nansi's playmaking ability and physical size are notable strengths for the Maple Leafs organization.

The Toronto Maple Leafs don't have the best prospect list in the NHL.

But one guy in their system appears to be outdoing his draft position: Harry Nansi.

Here's what to know about Nansi:

Who is Harry Nansi?

Nansi is a Toronto Maple Leafs prospect who currently plays in the OHL for the Owen Sound Attack.

When was Harry Nansi drafted?

Harry Nansi was the No. 135 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.

That was in the fifth round.

Why Harry Nansi is an under-the-radar prospect for The Maple Leafs

Alex Hobson of The Leafs Nation has a great explanation here:

When this was submitted, he had accumulated 34 points across 26 contests . To offer a comparison, Ryan Roobroeck, a forward with The Niagara IceDogs anticipated to be selected in the initial round of the 2026 draft, has recorded 22 points in 22 matches to date . This isn't to suggest Nansi would have been a top-10 selection in this year's draft if he'd been born seven days later, but his ability to keep pace with, and in some instances, surpass the draft-eligible prospects surrounding him is a highly positive indicator for The Maple Leafs.

While his physical dimensions might be the most striking initial attribute, measuring 6-foot-3 and weighing 179 pounds, a significant portion of Nansi’s talent centers on his ability to create plays. This is clearly demonstrated by his seven additional assists in half the number of games compared to his entire previous season, and he's had multiple instances this year that have caught the OHL's attention, including a five-point effort versus the Erie Otters, contributing to his selection as player of the week in the OHL.

The Leafs won't be in any rush to move Nansi up higher.

But he appears to be a player who has a future in the Toronto organization.

And for a fifth-round pick, that's not a bad outcome at all.
