For the first time in NHL history, the Pacific Northwest is getting the Winter Classic treatment for 2024.

As is tradition, the new year in the NHL kicks off with the annual outdoor event, as the Golden Knights and Kraken are the two participants for this year's Winter Classic.

The yearly contest has been played at a number of notable locations, including Boston's Fenway Park, The Big House in Michigan, Chicago's Wrigley Field and the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. After returning to Fenway Park for the second time in the event's history, it's a new location on deck for the 2024 game.

The Sporting News has more on the location and venue for the 2024 Winter Classic.
