Many Dallas Stars fans are already looking forward to the 2025-2026 NHL season after the Dallas Cowboys traded away Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Many Cowboys fans were unhappy with the move.

This was the second time that Dallas saw a superstar traded away this year. Luka Doncic was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers earlier in the calendar year. Well, a lot of Dallas sports fans were upset with that. However, one thing this fanbase was thrilled about is that they traded for Mikko Rantanen from the Colorado Avalanche and signed him to a long-term contract extension.

After the Parsons trade occurred, the Stars' social media team tried to comfort the fanbase.

Rantanen scored 32 goals and recorded 56 assists, along with a plus/minus of 13. With him being signed to a long-term deal, the Stars championship window is wide open, and they have a lot on the roster. The NHL team might be the closet team in the Dallas, Texas area who is even close to potentially winning a championship anytime soon.

The Stars have been in the Western Conference Finals the last two seasons before losing to the Edmonton Oilers both times. Dallas fans also believe that the Stars are trying to win a title unlike the Cowboys.

Only team in Dallas still trying to win

Even though the Stars have not won a Stanley Cup title since 1999 against the Buffalo Sabres, they have been to the Stanley Cup Finals twice since then and have been to many Western Conference Finals appearances, unlike the Cowboys. Also, the Texas Rangers won the World Series in 2023 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but Texas will miss the playoffs this season in the MLB.

Dallas should be one of the betting favorites to win the 2026 NHL Stanley Cup title. Even though the Stars have fallen short of the ultimate goal, the Dallas sports fans would rather deal with the Stars right now than the Cowboys after the Parsons trade.
