Rangers' Matt Rempe insane height contributes to odd goal vs. Penguins image

It's not often you see a hockey player laying in the crease and somehow have the goal count for that offensive player.

That's what the New York Rangers' Matt Rempe did on Saturday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

It was also an unusual site because of how much of that crease Rempe took up.

You see, Rempe is huge.

Check it out:

How tall is Matt Rempe?

Matt Rempe is 6-foot-9.

He weighs 255 pounds and is one of the tallest players in NHL history.

The Rangers landed Rempe originally with the No. 165 overall pick (sixth round) in the 2020 NHL Draft.

Rempe played in 42 games during the 2024-25 season, ending up with three goals and five assists.

He also had 117 hits last season, approximately three per game.

Rempe previously suited up for the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds prior to his drafting.

Now, he's got one of the biggest Rangers sweaters you'll ever see.
