Quinn Hughes is already making himself right at home with the Minnesota Wild.
Shoot, the star defenseman acquired in a trade from the Vancouver Canucks will hardly even leave the ice.
On Thursday night, Hughes played an almost unfathomable amount of ice time: 32 minutes, two seconds.
It's the most an NHL player has played in a non-overtime game this season.
It's also, for those keeping score at home, more than half the 60-minute game.
The Wild are banged up. Hughes had just played more than 29 minutes in their last game.
This is still exceptional, though, especially considering that the limited Wild are winning, anyway.
Hughes is 3-0 since first taking the ice for Minnesota.
On Thursday night, he didn't have a point, but the Wild won 5-2.
Hughes in his career has averaged more than 24 minutes per night, so he's clearly one of the sturdiest, most reliable defenseman out there.
The Wild will want to be careful to not overdo it too much. They gave up a ton to get Hughes, who is under contract through the end of the 2026-27 season. They wouldn't want to hurt him from overuse.
But clearly, Hughes seems to be able to handle it. When the Wild call his name to get out on the ice, he's often already out there.
