The Los Angeles Kings started Phoenix Copley in goal for their final game before Christmas, which was fitting.
Copley is from the North Pole.
Seriously: He's from North Pole, Alaska. He's the only NHL player from Alaska's Interior.

Yes, it's a real place, not far outside of Fairbanks.
North Pole, Alaska is known for its year-round Christmas decorations.
The streets there include names like Kris Kringle Drive and Mistletoe Lane.
One street sign in the town shows this North Pole to be just 250 miles from the literal North Pole.
The holiday vibes didn't help Copley quite enough on Tuesday night, though. He saved 25-of-28 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken.
He might be well-positioned to cheer up his teammates with some good gifts, though. If you're from North Pole, Alaska, you must have Santa Claus on speed dial, right?
