The Dallas Stars are a team that have gotten close to winning the Stanley Cup throughout the 2020's but have been unable to clear the final hurdle.

In 2020, they lost in the Cup final to Tampa in the Covid bubble playoffs. They have not gotten back to the final since, having lost in the Western Conference finals the last 3 years.

The Stars have one of the deepest teams on paper heading into this 25-26 season. As a result, they are expected to be one of the main Cup contenders. And they might not be done adding to their loaded roster as the year develops.

Who have the Stars been linked to?

Via insider Jeff Marek, Dallas has been connected to multiple star players in regards to potential future additions down the line. Those players are both of Calgary Flames descent: Nazem Kadri and Rasmus Andersson.

Nazem Kadri

Kadri will fit in nicely to the Stars top 6 forward core for what is already a loaded offense. The Stars have been missing some top notch grit at the top of their offensive lineup since the loss of Joe Pavelski, an area Kadri could most definitely assist in fixing.

Rasmus Andersson

Andersson is a player who has been on the Calgary trade block for some time as a trade with him has been expected for a while. The Stars could use another reliable minute munching top 4 defenseman; Andersson is a consistent defenseman who can be counted on down the playoff stretch.
