The Calgary Flames made their logical first move ahead of the NHL's March trade deadline and dealt Rasmus Andersson to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Once you trade away one veteran, it has to be questioned whether there are more moves to come.

When The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun looks at the Flames, he sees two more guys who could be logical trade candidates.

That duo: Blake Coleman and Nazem Kadri.

"Nazem Kadri and Blake Coleman are two quality veteran players with term left that teams have interest in," LeBrun writes.

Neither player is on an expiring contract, which makes them different than Andersson.

Coleman is 34 and on a logical contract to appeal to plenty of teams.

"Coleman, 34, has next year left on his deal at a $4.9 million cap hit," LeBrun writes. "His contract is perfect for many contenders. He does have partial trade protection in the form of a 10-team list of approved teams, which was submitted last summer."

Kadri has an even longer-term deal and is already 35.

"Kadri, 35, has three more years after this season at a $7 million cap hit," LeBrun writes. "That’s less appealing, to be sure. But he’s a Cup champion and playoff warrior, and some teams are looking at it. Kadri also has some protection in a 13-team no-trade list."

LeBrun concludes that "it's hard to say where it goes on either player."

So don't count on another deal for sure, but it makes sense for the Flames to at least keep their options open as they look toward the future.
