Buffalo Sabres tie improbable franchise record to end the year image

The Buffalo Sabres finished the year in style.

They won their last game of 2025 on Wednesday night, just a few hours before the new year arrived.

But that's not all.

The Sabres finished the 2025 calendar year with 10 wins in a row.

Those 10 wins consecutively tie a franchise record.

On New Year's Eve, the Sabres did it by winning at the high-quality Dallas Stars.

The Stars scored the game's only goal in the first period.

From there, it was all Sabres.

Josh Doan netted to tie the game 1-1, and Bowen Byram scored late in the second period for a 2-1 lead.

In the third, Tage Thompson netted two goals, giving him 20 for the season and securing the victory for the Sabres.

Buffalo may lose eventually. But it'd be pretty much impossible for the Sabres to be hotter heading into 2026.
