Why Terry McLaurin isn't playing tonight for Commanders with injury news and possible return timeline image

Terry McLaurin had returned to the field at last.

Unfortunately for the Washington Commanders, his comeback from injury proved brief.

He won't be participating in Sunday Night Football during Week 9 when the Commanders face off against the Seattle Seahawks.

McLaurin's season still feels like a lost one at this juncture.

Is Terry McLaurin sidelined for tonight's game?

Terry McLaurin isn't playing on Sunday night because he reaggravated his injury.

He had missed four games already this season with a right quad injury.

He returned to the field in Week 8, even making a couple of remarkable catches.

McLaurin aggravated his injury further, leading to his early withdrawal from play this week.

This is now the fifth game McLaurin has missed after having entered this season playing in 72 consecutive games.

The Commanders will have Deebo Samuel back and healthy, though Noah Brown is still on Injured Reserve.

That means the likes of Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane will remain key for Washington's passing attack.

The nation's capital is celebrating the return of Jayden Daniels, which is excellent news.
