The Washington Commanders brought Matt Gay to town this season to be their kicker.
He lasted 11 weeks.
On Monday, the Commanders released Gay, according to multiple reports.
Washington's season may be mostly over anyway, but regardless, they'll need to find a new kicker for the rest of the way.

Why did the Commanders release Matt Gay?
The Commanders released Gay after he missed two field goals Sunday in Madrid.
That was a game that Washington lost by three points in overtime. A couple missed kicks definitely proved costly.
Gay is now 13-for-19 on the season on field goals.
Who will be the Commanders' next kicker?
The first thought here is Matthew Wright, because he filled in for Gay earlier in the season. But Wright is currently taken by the Texans, where he's been kicking for the injured Ka'imi Fairbairn.
Austin Seibert has kicked for the Commanders in the past and is currently a free agent.
Cade York is another younger kicker who is a free agent.
Washington will likely have a workout on Tuesday with a few different kickers and come out of it having signed one.
