The Washington Commanders' season can't end soon enough.

It has been a disastrous campaign for Washington, a team that went from one win away from the Super Bowl last season to falling short of the playoffs in 2025.

In Week 16, the Commanders lost their contest against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday night, which prevents Washington from getting its first winning streak of the season.

The good news is, the victory gives the Commanders an opportunity to move up in the 2026 NFL draft order.

Here's a look at where Washington sits going into Sunday.

Commanders 2026 NFL draft pick

According to Tankathon, the Commanders enter Sunday in the No. 7 spot in the draft order, one spot higher than where they were prior to Saturday's loss.

However, Washington will go back to No. 8 if the New Orleans Saints lose, as New Orleans has a lower strength of schedule, which is the tie-breaker for teams with the same record.

Ahead of the Commanders, the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets and the Arizona Cardinals all have three wins, and the Jets and Cardinals have a higher strength of schedule, so Washington has an opportunity to move up further, even if New Orleans loses.

The Jets and Saints will square off on Sunday, while the Cardinals get the Atlanta Falcons and the Browns play the Buffalo Bills.
